Presiding Officer and MSP for West Scotland

Before entering Parliament in 1999, Ken was a television producer for BBC News working on national news programmes.

Ken was first elected in 1999 to represent the constituency of Eastwood. He held the Eastwood seat in 2003, 2007 and 2011 Scottish Parliamentary elections. In 2016, Ken was returned as an MSP for the West of Scotland region before being elected as the Scottish Parliament's fifth Presiding Officer.
